Relevant Solutions - Buildings Solutions is a marriage between Applied Automation in Salt Lake City, UT, Western Controls in Albuquerque, NM and Wilson Mohr in Houston, TX. All of these businesses have been in operation for over 40 years. Locations in Salt Lake City and St George, Utah and Albuquerque, NM.
Amcon Controls is a distributor of HVAC control components and systems with locations in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas and New Orleans. We have served the Alamo City, South Texas and the Gulf Coast with quality HVAC controls and support since 1986. In July of 2005, we acquired the Houston, Texas HVAC wholesale company Complete Controls.
INTEC Controls founded in 1991 in San Diego, California. INTEC Controls is a premier, worldwide provider of gas detection solutions and other peripherals to the commercial HVAC Controls, Energy Management and Building Automation markets.

Meet our Team
Eric Chernik has led the Building Solutions organization which provides commercial HVAC controls and automation, as well as INTEC Controls since June 2019. Previously, he led distribution and B2B branches at Lennox, FleetPride, and Grainger. He supports Relevant Solutions with strong sales, marketing, customer service, and strategy experiences. His commercialization strategies often include geographic market expansion, product or service expansion and channel/customer expansion. Eric completed his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth and has undergraduate and graduate degrees from Stanford University.
Chief Executive Officer
Christopher Wenaas is responsible for finance and support functions of the organization. He brings a deep operational understanding of finance and accounting. Throughout his career, Christopher has helped operational leaders understand the financial impact of their actions, and enabled them to make well informed, profitable decisions. In prior distribution and HVAC (Lennox & Service Experts) industry roles, Christopher focused on growth strategies while building efficient support organizations. Christopher earned engineering degrees from Purdue University and Texas A&M before earning an MBA from the University of North Texas.
Chief Financial Officer
Rick Jones has been in the Building Controls Industry since 1974. He was the President of Applied Automation, Inc. in Salt Lake City until the company was purchased by Wilson Mohr in 2006 that company is now part of Relevant Solutions having been acquired in 2011. He is a graduate of the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and marketing. Rick has been involved with all aspects of the distribution process from sales to technical support including system design and programming. Rick is certified in all aspects of Niagara r2, Ax and N4 along with Honeywell BMS, Alerton, EasyIO and others. Rick prides himself on being a source of solutions rather than just components seller.
Director Strategy & Business Development
Bob has been President of Amcon Controls since 2002. While he likes to consider his role primarily technical, there are many business management and sales duties that consume his time. Bob has worked in wholesale distribution and contracting since 1984 and has experience designing and fabricating control panels for various applications. He also oversees the AutoCAD and technical sales areas of the San Antonio branch. He is an active member of Controls Group North America (CGNA), American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE), Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), and the San Antonio Building Engineers (SAABE). Bob earned an Associate Degree in Microcomputers for Business from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. His certifications include: Johnson Controls Legacy N2, Facility Explorer FX, Honeywell LCBS, WEBS AX, and Tridium Niagara AX Controls.
Director Supplier Management & Technical Solutions
Kelsey Le has served as Regional Director of Building Solutions since June of 2019, leading the Utah sales and operations group. She began her career in the Building Automation business in 2000 with Applied Automation, they were acquired by Wilson Mohr which is now part of the Relevant Solutions platform. She has excelled during her time with the company while focusing on operational excellence, customer service and sales support. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Utah.

Mark has been performing all facets of HVAC mechanical and controls work since 1985 and carries a Class A air conditioning and refrigeration license. Mark has been Vice President of Amcon Controls since 2010, and works directly with Bob to resolve issues and to meet the needs of our customers and employees. He provides extensive training for contractors and our in-house employees. His duties also include developing project proposals with contractors, technical assistance, programming, sales and sales marketing. Credits: Computer science at San Angelo State University. HVAC technical School, 5 year apprenticeship program through the Local union 142. Certifications and factory training include: Lennox Heat Pump School, Liebert School, Carrier Flowtronics, Dunham Bush Screw Compressors, Solidyne Automation Programming, Toshiba VFD training, Alerton Automation Programming, Baldor VFD Training, Management Training, Distech Echelon Controls Training, Trane Sales Training, JCI VFD Training, JCI FX Controllers Training, Honeywell Controller Training, JCI FX Tridium Training, and Tridium Training and Certification.
Regional Director Central (Texas, Louisiana & New Mexico)
Mike Adelman has been the General Manager for INTEC Controls since 2010. Mike has over 34 years of experience in measurement and control applications including leadership positions in the building automation, industrial controls and test & measurement industries. Mike is a member of the Certification and Sustainable Technology committees of the USGBCI’s Green Parking Council. He holds a degree in Operations Research from the University of California at San Diego.
